YWCA web pages, emails, and social media

To promote its most important fundraising events of the year, YWCA needed copy for web, email, social media, and print applications.

Client: YWCA of Seattle/King County/Snohomish

Project: Copywriting for web, email, social media, and print

Timeline: 6 months

Launch Date: continuous December 2015 – May 2016

URL: www.ywcaworks.org/luncheons

I took on this project to assist YWCA in promoting their major fundraising events, the YWCA INSPIRE Luncheons. The copywriting covered a number of different areas, including:

  • print invitations and fliers
  • web landing page and 6-8 additional pages
  • over 24 different emails
  • Facebook and Twitter posts, including live posting from the events

Web “Microsite”

The Luncheons have their own “microsite” with Luncheon-specific navigation within the greater YWCA site. I wrote fresh copy for the landing page and all supporting pages.

Email Campaign

Most of the emails went to Table Captains, volunteers who invited and organized guests for their tables. These included strong messages of gratitude as well as a great deal of detailed organizational information. The gallery below includes a handful of examples.

Social Media

Although at first my task was to develop a list of content topics and some sample posts, the YWCA staff was so busy that I took on all social media posting in late February: writing, posting (including live posting from each Luncheon), and responding to comments. Find a few highlights below, or visit the Twitter feed or the Facebook page.

Print

I created or rewrote copy for several print pieces, too, including an official print invitation and reminder postcards.
